Cute spot! Went on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised with live music. Also I do not like beer or cider and there were plenty of other options for me. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for drinks on a budget, though.
My go to craft beer place in Bowmanville, they always have such good recommendations!! I always go in without deciding what to buy and trust their recommendations 100%!
$1-2 markup? More like $6. Have the decency not to gouge folks trying to support local. There are much better options in Bowmanville. Go to any of them over this place.
Beers out of the fridge were marked up quite a bit, almost double what the brewery has them listed for. Obviously you expect a bit of a markup but that seems pretty excessive. None of the beers are priced so make sure you check before you end up spending $15+ a can. On top of that they charge HST on the beers making what should have been a $7 can almost $20. I had a 12oz beer which should have been $5.99, I was charged $9.99. I was also charged for a chocolate bar for whatever reason, I didn’t have one and didn’t even know they were available. Should have checked the bill while I was there but I expected better.
Shared a drink with my husband. First time at this establishment. We love the atmosphere and staff so very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. Thank you for the great service Derek!! We live in Bowmanville and will return.
This is a fav spot of a family member of mine, so I thought we'd celebrate his 30th birthday here. Set it up via email with owner Chris who answered promptly and was very helpful. He reserved us a big table. It was Maplefest, so this was doubly appreciated. The place was spotlessly clean (despite a busy day) and I loved the set up and vibe. Lots of great beer choices on tap and in the fridges. Different flight numbers were available. Wine choice was limited but the picks were better than in any other beer joint I've been to, and an excellent serving size. I thought pricing was great. Despite the busy day, Chris, Derek and the woman working were all very fun and friendly. For this occasion, I was grateful there was no live music although it would be a blast for a weekend night out. A great business that clearly supports other small businesses and the craft beer industry in Ontario.
I went in to look around at brewing supplies. I found the prices too high compared to Amazon and Toronto Brewing Company. The local beer and cider was very expensive. Overall it looks like a place suffering from an identity crisis. Half of the place is a weird low stock brewers store mixed with small cafe/lounge live music venue? I felt like I was in an episode of Gordan Ramsay's Kitchen Nighmares Edit: To reply to the owners comment "I was here all day. You never came in. We do not have prices displayed on anything so your story does not wash." I did not say I was at the store "today" and I know the prices of the beers I bought because I purchased them from the cooler and paid. Obviously I inquire about prices of items BEFORE buying them. Since there was no price displayed, I asked to find out. Hence the reason why I purchased from Toronto Brewing instead. Hope that helps clear it up for you.
