I come to this location often. The prices are amazing. The Staff are super friendly and helpful. It has become my favorite place to shop in town. If the owner replies, I would love to give props to some of your team that assists me every time I am in. You all do a great job over there! Will 1000% be back again.
For some reason they did not open the second cash to deal with people who were buying product in the store. The one till open was used to assist people ordering turkeys etc for Christmas. Making customers wait 10 minutes + to pay is never a good policy.
Halenda’s staff are awesome and make every effort to serve you in a friendly, efficient way. The meat selection is well displayed, high quality and offers a great variety of choices. Their weekly promotions also offer good savings on many items. It’s my go-to store!
I have been an avid Halenda shopper for many, many years in Oshawa since the only shop was the little shop on Simcoe Street. Later on over the years, I shopped at each of the locations: Hwy 2 Whitby, Taunton Rd East, Oshawa, Hwy 2 East at Townline Rd, , Oshawa, Nelson St, Oshawa,, all depending on where I was on any particular work day. Later, after retiring, I shopped Halenda Bowmanille and now that I live in Trenton, I drive to Bowmanville Halenda at least every two weeks. My experiences over all the years have been positive with the best owner/managers, staff and particularly, the meat products. I will definitely continue to shop at Bowmanville Halenda as long as I am able, being 76 years old now. My biggest hope is that Halenda will open a shop closer to Trenton one day soon. Ordered a freezer package for the 1st time last week. The meat was a fantastic especially the strip loin steaks. They were phenomenal. Will be ordering again.
Halenda's Bowmanville sells just the best quality products. The meat is excellent. Meat is fresh. There are a good variety of other food products, both fresh and frozen. You can select the exact steak or piece of chicken breast you like the best. Staff are very helpful and courteous.
Went to the bowmanville location tonight. And it was a pretty bad experience. They need to have an adult working there to supervise all the students. They were rather rude and had no information about buying half or a full cow. I was laughed at by one of them, as i tried to explain that butcher shops you can place orders online or at the store for meat orders, I was told they have never heard of that and don't do it. Extremely annoying.. Even had another customer/ gentlemen give me a look like (what's going on here) Bad business for the store if you ask me. Still spent $100 tonight there but will do my large meat order somewhere else I guess. Found it frustrating how I had to keep re-picking my pieces of meat as the guy kept giving me the smallest ones. Felt rushed and like they think the worst of everyone that walks in there. They won't let you hold your product like they think your going to steal it or something. Once I got home I noticed a few pieces of my meat were rapped very pourly and had to fix it myself. I know owners need days off but this store needs an adult there at all times.
